TODAY IS PENTECOST SUNDAY  Red as the color of fire is used on this day when we remember the tongues of fire descended on the crowd in Jerusalem.  In contrast to the color of scarlet, Pentecost’s red is a bright color.

PENTECOST was originally a Jewish festival celebrating the giving of the Law, God’s Word, to the Israelites at Mount Sinai.  It took place fifty days after Passover, when the Israelites escaped from Egypt about 1240 B.C.  On this day, God poured out the Holy Spirit upon all believers and filled them with power to go and be witnesses of Jesus Christ.  We are to breathe deeply of the Holy Spirit today and go boldly to proclaim the Gospel.

What is Simply Giving?  It’s an easier, simpler way to make your regular contributions to our congregation through automated  giving.

An Easy, Generous Choice

The Simply Giving program is designed to help you conveniently, consistently and joyfully give financial gifts to our congregation’s ministry.  By participating in the program, you can use electronic funds transfer to give your weekly, semi-monthly or monthly offering.  The program will be helpful to God’s ministry at Grace by decreasing the seasonal fluctuations in giving patterns and by providing a more consistent, predictable income.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all who give of their time, energy and love in this important role in our world.

 Banner Ministry

The purpose of Banner Ministry is to develop an awareness of the connection between spirituality and the arts, and to enhance the worship and spiritual life of the individual and community through the experience and expression of the arts.

        Our Mission Statement ~

The Grace Lutheran Banner Ministry will focus on giving thanks & praise to God by beautifying and enhancing the Sanctuary and Family Life Center with liturgical colors and symbols for the seasons of the church year through worship & praise flags, balcony & cross drapes, and banners.  We will educate and explain the liturgical colors & symbols; explaining when & why they are used do this.  We also aspire to inform the congregation of the relevance the images have, and why they are placed on the banners.

“We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.”

~ Psalm 20:5

A SPECIAL BANNER that is often displayed in the Family Life Center is multi-seasonal with a general theme, and the text is a simplified version of the mission statement of Grace Lutheran Church.  The borders of fabric squares are in a rainbow progression representing God’s promises.  The red arrows flow in a circle reflecting our faith and commitment to grow and share as God’s people.

Technical Arts Ministry

Who We Are & What We Do

This ministry group is made up of people who provide the behind the scenes technical expertise that makes each worship service heard.

A technical team coordinates and manages the audio and radio elements used during worship services such as:

  • Sound - This team sets up microphones, monitors and speakers, sets sound balances and monitors the levels during each service.

  • Audio/Visual - These members run various audio components that provide background, prelude and postlude music, and audio taped ministry features and other items used to enhance the worship experience.

  • Recording - This group provides a unique ministry where worship services are recorded on audiocassettes and are given to those who are house bound due to illness or age as well as anyone desiring a copy of the message for that week.
